As so many of our clients find that they have issued with managing their FES set up and use in warmer weather.....

so I thought we can share some of this info.................

For hamstring stimulation

  1. The thigh piece sits on the thigh with the elongation bar at the back. With the electrodes on the back thigh and the secure straps on the front thigh and the control unit on the inside of his thigh
  2. Make sure the system is charged everyday and overnight
  3. Make sure cloth thigh and cloth lower leg electrodes are wet before use to prevent a burn
  4. Remember that if you have shaved your legs, the stim will feel more so you may need to turn down the stim on the control unit. E.g. From level 5 to 3 or 4 whatever works for you
  5. Make sure all cream is removed with a wet wipe. This also to helps remove any dry skin especially when using gel electrodes
  6. Make sure the system is in walk mode for walking
  7. Make sure to allow your skin to breathe for a 20 min period every 4 hours
  8. Make sure the system is turned off when you sit down or else t will keep beeping
  9. Don't get the foot switch or the electrical parts wet
  10. Make sure you stand and put weight through your leg or else the L300 system will keep stunning your shin. So put weight through the footswitch to turn this off

Training

  1. For Calf tightness - start with your lower leg for the first three months as we want to build up endurance and muscle bulk in your shin muscle first
  2. Then progress to raising your lower leg up on a stool to help stretch your other calf muscle and your hamstrings
  3. In warmer environments and especially over summer when you are abroad, you will need to wet your electrodes more frequently every 2 hours.
